This 2014 off-season so far has been anything but! The track action from the Verizon IndyCar Series drivers and its driver development program, the Mazda Road to Indy, continues this weekend throughout the United States.

TUDOR IN TEXAS
The TUDOR United SportsCar Championship will be racing at Circuit of the Americas this Saturday as well for the Lone Star LeMans. This race also starts at 12:30 PM EDT and will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 2. It will re-air on FOX network the following day, September 21st – but you need to check your local listings for the time.
IndyCar drivers Martin Plowman & Jack Hawksworth will both be racing in the Prototype Challenge class tomorrow – and both piloting a Chevrolet ORECA FLM09. Plowman will be sharing driving duties with Marc Drumwright & Tomy Drisi for BAR1 Motorsports while Hawksworth will be with Chris Cumming again for RSR Racing.
2014 Indianapolis 500 contenders, James Davison & Townsend Bell will be contesting at COTA as well, in the GT Daytona class. Davison races with Al Carter for the TRG-AMR team, piloting an Aston Martin V12 Vantage while Bell shares the No. 555 with Bill Sweedler as he has throughout 2014, for AIM Autosport in a Ferrari 458 Italia.
Bell is currently ranked 1st in his GTD class in TUDOR, along with his co-driver and 3 others. He won his class at the Rolex 24 of Daytona and has remained a power to battle with all season long. Hawksworth finished first in his class at the Brickyard Grand Prix in July of this year at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
So race fans, do not fear the off-season! If you truly love racing, these few months off until we start back up in… well, early March as of now, given the announcement that the Verizon IndyCar Series will be returning to Brazil in 2015… are not going to be all that painful. Plenty of news coming out all the time, lots of track action to find if you know where to look and of course, I will do my best to bring you live trackside coverage whenever possible.
