Indy Fans Tweet Up at the Grand Prix of Long Beach – Saturday, April 18th!

You guys have been asking for it – so here it is! Information about the Indy Fans Tweet Up!

This weekend is the 41st running of the Grand Prix of Long Beach and I can tell you from just being here for one day, that this race weekend is already living up to the stories I’ve heard for years. You should hear how these cars sound flying through the streets of Downtown Long Beach and the reverberation off the buildings…  and these are just practice sessions… WOW! Many of the stories in regards to Long Beach, I’ve read or heard over broadcasts and recaps but some of them were personal. My aunt & uncle came to the Grand Prix of Long Beach to kick off their honeymoon in 1987. Their ultimate destination was Hawaii but they figured that since they had to fly through Los Angeles anyways, to stay a few days and enjoy the race! One of my other uncles has attended the Grand Prix of Long Beach multiple times, so I guess you could say that it’s a family tradition – one of which I’m very excited to be participating in finally!

That leads me to you awesome folks – my readers, twitter followers and fellow fans (because even though I work race weekends now, I still consider myself a fan of the series – that’s a title I have had since the age of 3 and never plan on retiring). You guys are the reason Pippa Mann and Amy Woedl started the Indy Fans Tweet Up – to give fans a place to meet, “put a face to the handle”, and interact with those that work in the series in a casual & comfortable setting that accepts and welcomes everyone! I’ve been very blessed to be invited into the Indy Fans Tweet Up family and assist with hosting and co-hosting these events.

This weekend I will be hosting the Indy Fans Tweet Up solo on Saturday afternoon and we will have a great venue hosting the event: the Chevy Display inside the Long Beach Arena (Lifestyle Expo). We will have the Chevy Racing Program Manager for the Verizon IndyCar Series on hand to take part in a Q&A, which will be driven by you the fans and your questions about Chevy technology & racing! This is a don’t miss event! Please make sure to mark your calendars… we can not wait to see you!
