NASCAR in a difficult spot when it comes to concussions

With the news that Dale Earnhardt, Jr. would be missing at least this weekend’s New Hampshire 301 due to issues with concussion-like symptoms, it brings up a question of whether or not NASCAR might have a bigger problem on its hands. While Earnhardt, Jr. has suffered from these symptoms before and even missed races in 2012 and gave up his chance at a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship because of it, he can’t possibly be the only driver who has felt these symptoms. He just might be the only one who has stepped up and said something. I find it … Continue reading NASCAR in a difficult spot when it comes to concussions

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race At Eldora Once Again A Great Show

by Ryan Isley Not only is Ohio an important battleground state in the presidential election, but the Buckeye state has now become one of the most important stops on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule. For the third straight season, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series headed to a dirt track in western Ohio this past Wednesday. And for the third straight year, the trucks put on a memorable show at Eldora Speedway. Christopher Bell won his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, joining Austin Dillon and Bubba Wallace as winners of the 1-800-CarCash Mudsummer Classic. Just … Continue reading NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race At Eldora Once Again A Great Show

Chase Elliott Better Equipped Than Others As He Makes Sprint Cup Series Debut

The future is now for Hendrick Motorsports and Chase Elliott. Ok, maybe not right now. But it is really close. This weekend, Elliott will make his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut for Hendrick, where he will take over the No.24 Chevrolet being vacated by Jeff Gordon starting next season. First things first, though, as Elliott will drive in five races this season in the Sprint Cup Series to get himself accustomed to the series. This just might be the most anticipated Sprint Cup Series debut since Danica Patrick climbed into a Sprint Cup Series ride for the first time at … Continue reading Chase Elliott Better Equipped Than Others As He Makes Sprint Cup Series Debut

Is Ty Dillon on the Same Path as Austin Dillon?

by Ryan Isley It’s like déjà vu all over again with Richard Childress Racing. Only this time, it is Ty Dillon – not Austin Dillon – who is getting a ride from his grandfather. When I heard that Ty Dillon would run the No.33 Cheerios Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing in the 2015 Daytona 500, it really came as no surprise. Remember – it was Ty’s older brother Austin who ran his first Daytona 500 in 2013 in the same car. It would not shock me one bit if the plan for Ty in 2015 is similar to what Richard … Continue reading Is Ty Dillon on the Same Path as Austin Dillon?

Kyle Larson Lassoes Away NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year Award From Austin Dillon

by Ryan Isley The 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year battle was a two-horse race, with the driver who wears a cowboy hat not being the one to win the award. It was Austin Dillon who was the early talk of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rookie class but in the end, he was left holding his cowboy hat while Kyle Larson was holding the Rookie of the Year trophy. Dillon came into the Sprint Cup Series in 2014 as a 23-year-old rookie (he turned 24 in April), having won the championship in the NASCAR Nationwide Series … Continue reading Kyle Larson Lassoes Away NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year Award From Austin Dillon

Expect Tempers To Heat Up As NASCAR Heads To Atlanta

by Ryan Isley There will be fireworks Sunday night at Atlanta Motor Speedway. They just might not be in the sky. With just two races left until the field is set for the Chase for the Sprint Cup, a number of drivers know that the only way they will have a chance to compete for a championship will be to somehow find their way to victory lane at either Atlanta or Richmond.  It is safe to say that in Atlanta (and the following week in Richmond), there will be desperation in the air. And with desperation comes short tempers. Drivers … Continue reading Expect Tempers To Heat Up As NASCAR Heads To Atlanta

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Drivers Hurting NASCAR Nationwide Series

by Ryan Isley The first step in fixing a problem is admitting that you have one in the first place. That is something NASCAR is not very good at doing, but they need to start. No, the problem isn’t that Aric Almirola won the rain-shortened Firecracker 400 to throw a wrench into the Chase for the Sprint Cup Series. It has nothing to do with the newly formed Race Car Alliance. This time, it doesn’t even pertain to their attendance and falling television viewership. Nope, this time the issue is how NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers are taking over and … Continue reading NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Drivers Hurting NASCAR Nationwide Series
