Chase Elliott Better Equipped Than Others As He Makes Sprint Cup Series Debut

The future is now for Hendrick Motorsports and Chase Elliott. Ok, maybe not right now. But it is really close. This weekend, Elliott will make his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut for Hendrick, where he will take over the No.24 Chevrolet being vacated by Jeff Gordon starting next season. First things first, though, as Elliott will drive in five races this season in the Sprint Cup Series to get himself accustomed to the series. This just might be the most anticipated Sprint Cup Series debut since Danica Patrick climbed into a Sprint Cup Series ride for the first time at … Continue reading Chase Elliott Better Equipped Than Others As He Makes Sprint Cup Series Debut

Ten Predictions for the 2015 NASCAR Season

by Ryan Isley It seems like Kevin Harvick was just hoisting the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship trophy over his head and yet here we are at the beginning of another NASCAR season. While there were plenty of stories in the NASCAR offseason that occurred off the track, it is time to finally focus on racing. As much as I am not a fan of doing predictions (thank you Twitter trolls), I figured I could at least give 10 predictions for this upcoming season. These 10 are separate for my first prediction from a couple of weeks ago when … Continue reading Ten Predictions for the 2015 NASCAR Season

How A Dale Earnhardt Fan Came To Like Jeff Gordon

by Ryan Isley From winning championships to kissing the bricks to being mentioned in a song by Nelly, you could say Jeff Gordon has had a pretty successful NASCAR career. But it had to come to an end sometime – all good things do. It was announced on Thursday that 2015 would be the final season in which Jeff Gordon competes full-time in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. One of NASCAR’s best competitors ever, Gordon will finish his career third all-time in wins unless he has a career year in 2015. Entering the season, Gordon has found victory lane 92 … Continue reading How A Dale Earnhardt Fan Came To Like Jeff Gordon

NASCAR'S Contender Round Produces Some Surprising Eliminations

by Ryan Isley Sometimes, things shake out exactly how you expect them to – even if they don’t shake out exactly how you expect them to. That was the case this past Sunday in the Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Confused? Let me explain… When the new format for the Chase for the Sprint Cup Series was announced, there was one date everyone circled on their calendars – October 19. Every driver knew that if they were still in the Chase at that point and had not picked up a win at Kansas or Charlotte in the two weeks prior … Continue reading NASCAR'S Contender Round Produces Some Surprising Eliminations

Hendrick Motorsports Has a Chance to Put Kansas Behind Them

by Ryan Isley Dorothy did everything she could to get back to Kansas. Hendrick Motorsports couldn’t wait to get the hell out of there. Kansas Speedway wasn’t paved with yellow bricks for Hendrick Motorsports last weekend in the Hollywood Casino 400, as Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kasey Kahne all wrecked and put their chances to win the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship in serious jeopardy. The wrecks caused Kahne to finish 22nd, Earnhardt Jr. 39th and Johnson 40th. More damaging, however, is their spot in the Chase for the Sprint Cup standings, where Kahne finds himself ninth, Earnhardt Jr. … Continue reading Hendrick Motorsports Has a Chance to Put Kansas Behind Them

Kevin Harvick (and Crew) Looking for Freaky Fast Start to the Chase

by Ryan Isley In this weekend’s MyAFibStory.com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway, Kevin Harvick will have sponsor Jimmy John’s – whose motto is “freaky fast” – on his No.4 Chevrolet. He has to hoping his new pit crew is freaky fast, unlike the crew he has used all season. Harvick will start the “Challenger” round of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Chase for the Sprint Cup this week sixth place in points, six points behind leader Brad Keselowski. Harvick had two wins this season, but could have easily led the series in victories if not for the mistakes on pit road. … Continue reading Kevin Harvick (and Crew) Looking for Freaky Fast Start to the Chase

Expect Tempers To Heat Up As NASCAR Heads To Atlanta

by Ryan Isley There will be fireworks Sunday night at Atlanta Motor Speedway. They just might not be in the sky. With just two races left until the field is set for the Chase for the Sprint Cup, a number of drivers know that the only way they will have a chance to compete for a championship will be to somehow find their way to victory lane at either Atlanta or Richmond.  It is safe to say that in Atlanta (and the following week in Richmond), there will be desperation in the air. And with desperation comes short tempers. Drivers … Continue reading Expect Tempers To Heat Up As NASCAR Heads To Atlanta

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Eldora Speedway Needs To Happen

NASCAR was slinging mud this week, but in a good way. The Camping World Truck Series held the second annual 1-800 CarCash Mudsummer Classic at Eldora Speedway in New Weston, Ohio to the delight of the capacity crowd and fans watching on television. In one of the most exciting races of the season – just as it was last year – Darrell Wallace, Jr survived an amazing onslaught from Kyle Larson to win the race. Larson ended up finishing 26th after hitting the wall on what he estimated to be at least 70 times. His car finally couldn’t hold on … Continue reading NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Eldora Speedway Needs To Happen

Brad Keselowski Back In Championship Form in 2014

By Ryan Isley If the last two months are any indication, we are in for one heck of a ride as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season heads to the Chase for the Sprint Cup. That’s because one of the most entertaining drivers in the series – Brad Keselowski – is right in the middle of the hunt for the championship. When the season began, it looked as if the pain of missing the Chase last season after winning the Sprint Cup Series championship in 2012 was behind him. He started the season as one of the hottest drivers in … Continue reading Brad Keselowski Back In Championship Form in 2014
