Look at it this way – the Verizon IndyCar Series is nothing if not consistent at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend. Another red flag laced practice session started off with a red flag 10 minutes into final practice when Pietro Fittipaldi (No. 19 Paysafe Honda, Dale Coyne Racing) got stuck in a gravel trap after going off up at the Keyhole (Turn 2). He needed assistance to get out, but was then able to head back to pitlane under his own power, and he continued on in the practice session. The second red was called for Matheus Leist … Continue reading Rahal clocks fastest lap in final IndyCar practice at Mid-Ohio, field continues to struggle with kits
Dusty goes M.I.A. as Adrian, Zach and I try to make sense of recording on our own. It’s… not as easy as Dusty makes it look. Lots of good conversation though as always, ranging from a look back on the Mid-Ohio race with it’s blue flags and restarts and continued action at the track after raceday in the form of Bourdais’ first test after his IMS crash 2 months ago and testing of the 2018 aerokits! It was a jam-packed few days and we wouldn’t have made it through if not for you, the awesome listeners! We give you guys … Continue reading Push to Pass [S3E25] – Mid-Ohio Review

Alexander Rossi could be on the verge of a breakthrough in the Verizon IndyCar Series. Two weeks ago, he achieved his best finish since his victory at the Indianapolis 500 in 2016, with a P2 on the Streets of Toronto. The driver of the No. 98 Andretti Autosport Honda had it dialed in this morning for the third practice of the weekend, running the fastest lap of the weekend with a 1:04.2303. He almost had it stolen away by teammate Takuma Sato in the No. 26 Ruoff Home Mortgage Honda, but he earned it back only a few laps before … Continue reading Could Mid-Ohio be Proving Grounds for Andretti Autosport?

Two podiums and a pole position are listed on Ryan Hunter-Reay’s resume under the heading of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, but what he is really looking for is a victory. He has been coming to Mid-Ohio to watch races since he was a child, and got his first taste of on-track action in Lexington, Ohio when he participated in Formula Dodge and Skip Barber. His favorite thing about Mid-Ohio is, “… the constant flow to it. It never stops turning. Even the turns have kinks in them.” Verizon IndyCar Series Honda Indy 200 Practice 2 Results Verizon IndyCar Series Honda … Continue reading Hunter-Reay Clocks Fastest Lap on Friday at Mid-Ohio
Simon Pagenaud is back in the easily-identifiable Menard’s yellow livery this weekend at Mid-Ohio. It’s a different look than last year’s car, when he ran the PPG colors (on the No. 2 of Josef Newgarden this weekend) and won the Honda Indy 200 for the first time in his career. What is familiar however, is his pattern of running up front at the Lexington, Ohio 13-turn permanent road course. Last year, with a back issue plaguing him, Pagenaud won the Verizon P1 Award in the three-round knockout qualifying format and then showed equal aggression and precision when he led the … Continue reading Defending Race Winner and Hometown Hero Fight to Lead First Practice at Mid-Ohio
I look forward to this weekend every year – the weekend IndyCar comes home to me, right here in Ohio. While we all know how much I advocate for Cleveland to make it’s way back on the schedule, racing at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is not something I would be willing to give up in order to make that happen. It’s less than 2 hours from my hometown on the shores of Lake Erie, and it’s well worth the jaunt down I-71. Earlier this week, while working my regular job in healthcare, my supervisor asked if someone would be willing … Continue reading Mid-Ohio Weekend: Fueled by Adrenaline and Milkshakes
