Racing through downtown Indianapolis on a HandleBar, flying around the iconic Yard of Bricks with a famed Canadian music producer in tow, twisting & turning on the Rolex 24 course at Daytona International Speedway, gracing the pages of Esquire magazine, riding on a Mardi Gras float and securing sponsorship from a Fortune 150 company that is recognized worldwide for their technological solutions… it’s all in an off-season’s work for James Hinchcliffe. The Mayor of Hinchtown, as his fan following so affectionately refers to him, is not only one of the funniest guys you’ll meet while roaming the IndyCar paddock, but … Continue reading Hinchcliffe & SPM Shoot for Success with Arrow
Ryan Hunter-Reay certainly has been busy since the checkered flag waved at Auto Club Speedway in August, signifying the close of the 2014 Verizon IndyCar Series season. While many believe that the off season is downtime until the next season’s kickoff, drivers like Hunter-Reay prove that when you have a need for speed… you don’t slow down simply because the series track schedule is quiet. In November 2014, Ryan, his wife Beccy and their adorable son, Ryden were on hand at the Cleveland Clinic Florida campus to present a donation to the world-renowned hospital brand in the amount of 2.5 … Continue reading RHR: The Man with the Yellow Car
The racing off-season is only named as such because there are no scheduled competitive races taking place in the given series you are referring to at the time. For the Verizon IndyCar Series and it’s fans, the off-season is unpredictable. We can go weeks or months without any big announcements and then suddenly without warning… boom… a tidal wave of information (and emotion) slams into us. Welcome to the week that was: Worlds Collide This past Sunday, 6 Verizon IndyCar Series drivers stood proudly across 3 different class podiums at the Rolex 24 in Daytona – the season opener for … Continue reading It’s Definitely IndyCar Season… My Head is Spinning

News and Notes from the Roar Before the 24 at Daytona International Speedway The Roar before the 24 at Daytona International Speedway is the official three day weekend of testing announcing the start of the TUDOR SportsCar Championship racing season. Literally, the roar of the engines at the Roar ends the offseason and months of speculation around team sponsors, new cars, driver lineups, and IMSA rules and regulations. This weekend gives drivers and teams the chance to shake down new cars, new driver combinations, and settle into the steep NASCAR banking, horseshoe curves, the kink and the bus stop on … Continue reading Can You Hear The Roar?
What a weekend! It’s Thursday & I am STILL winding down from all the excitement of the official kickoff to race season in the States. While I was unable to make it down to the Rolex 24 in Florida, it didn’t keep me from being surrounded by incredible automobiles and crazy talented racecar drivers! I enjoyed a trip up North to Detroit this past Friday, for the North American International Auto Show. I spent about 6 hours walking through the enormous Cobo Center, taking in the sights and sounds of the newest 2014 & 2015 models – everything from Toyota’s … Continue reading Detroit to Daytona
A couple weeks ago, we started the year off with a Roar in Daytona. The teams for the Rolex 24 tested and I ventured into my first legitimate SportsCar-focused piece. I think it went pretty well and I appreciated all the feedback from you, the readers! Time to bring the spotlight back on these drivers and teams in Daytona… the green flag drops in just nine days and I don’t know about you, but my DVR is already set and I’m in the process of memorizing the car numbers of my favorite drivers. Given that the entry list was officially … Continue reading IndyCar at the Rolex 24
