An eventful first Practice as IndyCar teams feel out 2018 aero kits at Mid-Ohio

Three red flags make for an eventful practice. Thankfully, no injuries or serious damage was reported, but it could foreshadow a wild weekend ahead of us. These kits are definitely able to throw a wrench into the plans of these drivers, as everyone tests their limits at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course over the next three days. Matheus Leist, one of the first drivers to take to the track after the installation laps, went off track in Turn 5 and caused the first red flag. The AMR Safety Team responded quickly as always and got the No. 4 ABC Supply … Continue reading An eventful first Practice as IndyCar teams feel out 2018 aero kits at Mid-Ohio

Final Practice Adds to Audible Buzz of 2018 Indy 500 Weekend

That’s a wrap folks. The Verizon IndyCar Series cars have left the track and they won’t return until the pageantry of the 102nd Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Oil is in it’s kickoff phases, less than 48 hours from now. There was only one caution during the last practice, for a track inspection. The only drama was for the No. 13 GoDaddy crew. Danica Patrick, running for Ed Carpenter Racing this weekend, had an electrical issue. I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist. The off-season was even busier for IndyCar than it was for little ol’ me though, so let’s take a look at all … Continue reading Brazilian drivers Kanaan and Leist focused on building momentum for A.J. Power Runs Quickest Overall in Friday Practices at Mid-Ohio

The Honda Indy 200 afternoon practice session on Friday at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course ended prematurely when the skies opened and huge rain drops began to scatter across pit lane and the entire 13-turn track. The drops came down in an individual fashion, almost as though they each had a purposeful destination and when one hit you, it felt like you were getting hit by a tiny water balloon. The field of 22 quickly made their way into the pits and after the big drops gave way to smaller but more frequent ones falling, one or two cars took … Continue reading Power Runs Quickest Overall in Friday Practices at Mid-Ohio
